Bamboo Solutions dedicates itself to providing web parts and applications designed specifically to enrich the SharePoint platform. Just recently, we walked you through their Project Management Suite for SharePoint which offers things like a project management dashboard, team calendaring and alerting.

They are now taking that offering a step further by creating an OEM agreement with TeamDirection to include the Bamboo SharePoint Project Portfolio Dashboard web part in TeamDirection’s IntelliGantt Add-in for Microsoft Project.

Atlassian has released the latest version of their Confluence enterprise wiki software, officially releasing their SharePoint Connector and a new Connector that will make many MS Office and Open Office users happy.

So MOSS has been attacked for its web content management, lack of social networking features, its blogging and wiki functionality, its use for an internet…hmmm not much else they can go after is there?

Oh yeah…be careful using it as an application development platform — it could wreak havoc in your organization.

Every since its release, there have been questions about SharePoint’s (MOSS’) fitness as a web content management solution (see our article series on MOSS WCM).

While the jury may still be out on this question, it does not appear to be deliberating on the question of SharePoint’s social features. Microsoft is continuing to improve its community features, they have also been working closely with a partner, Telligent, who can provide this functionality as a direct SharePoint integration.

Funny thing is, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen these two products doing the tango. SharePoint Solutions has a service offering that does the exact same thing.
